The answer to this is to look at what they think "big government" is. They don't actually care about the size or control of the government, but rather who is being controlled. As long as it's "other" people being controlled they are okay with it.

This seems to be correct. But this administration doesn't care about whether they have lawful authority or not. They just tell people what to do and threaten those who don't comply.

That's a good question. The Smithsonian was created by the US government but it's also not run by the executive branch.

The Trump admin is going to use any and all leverage of the executive branch to get their way. The two methods they tend to use are (a) denying funding and (b) threats of force.

As much as I like Sanders this is one of my criticisms. Why wasn't he doing this in 2016? Or earlier? He alone cannot make changes. It's great that these two are working together now and they need to bring in even more politicians and allies to grow a movement.

Agree. But one of the biggest challenges is how state election laws heavily reinforce the two party system. Is it easier to attempt a 3rd party solution or to attempt to change the DNC? Both are difficult paths. Also: ranked choice voting would help

Too many innocent people have been murdered by the state in pursuit of "justice". How is capital punishment not considered murder just because it's done by the government?
