Brighton supporter, interested in renewable energy and battery technology. Deeply uninterested in political argument. Bit of an idiot, doesn’t get invited to many parties. Display name may change as mood dictates.

Dead within a month?

I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve seen it in the flesh, but the original was ugly side-on.

Ideally I want a real (not theoretical) 400 miles, which means driving what I have until next gen battery tech is on the market. Solid state and/or weight reduced batteries will hopefully get us there.

The right one didn’t exist. I’ve had to compromise, especially at my specific price point. In three years time I can look at a second hand EQE or EQS, or hope something long range and cheap has come out, but I won’t buy Tesla and the real-world range of new models are still disappointingly low.

Well my current EV is a year old and adds 200 miles of range in 40 minutes, and it’s still a PITA to have breaks dictated by the car rather than my wanting a break. I’m sorry, I’m impatient, I won’t go back to ICE, but I absolutely want a claimed 550 mile range to manage a real-world 400 miles.

Range is still an issue for me (and I drive EV) I do high miles, can’t charge at home, and in the same way that refuelling an ICE car was a necessary pain, an EV is this x20. I don’t want an enforced 40 min stop on every 200 mile trip. I want real world 400 motorway miles regardless of weather.

Because they want to cut taxes too, and want you to believe that the sick and ill will simply leap from their sick beds into work to replace the absent migrant workforce. With no investment at all. As if it isn’t a complex multi-year process to rehabilitate somebody with long-term health issues.
