Nor am I. Have you read the methods section of the very first SPRINT paper in NEJM www.nejm.org/doi/full/10....? Does this “standard treatment” arm sound like normal, sane BP treatment or a wildly spiked and almost certainly harmful control protocol? Is the abstract maybe flat-out lying?
