This National Medal of Honor Day we pause to thank those ordinary people who displayed extraordinary valor and selfless courage.
65 years ago today, these four men: Joesph McNeil, Franklin McCain, Ezell Blair, Jr., and David Richmond took a seat at the Greensboro (NC) Woolworth’s “whites only” lunch counter. Through their courage what would become known as the Civil Rights Movement was brought into the light.
