My new laptop (or rather the fact it has a 16:10 aspect ratio) has highlighted a problem with the portal effect I'm using.
Turns out it only works at 16:9 resolutions...

So, because things could not be more ridiculous, it actually works better to stream Flight Simulator via cloud (which still has to stream in assets itself) than to just play the game natively

Finally got around to really stress testing my new laptop.
This render of a burger took 2 minutes less to render in 8k than a 1080p render took on my old laptop (4 minutes vs 6 minutes)

Decided to give Yooka-Replaylee a try
There’s a few QOL changes I really like, but man did it come at a cost
It feels like a sterile, sanitized version of the original from the moment you boot up the game. As an example, here‘s the title and save game menu for both versions

I just finished my first playthrough of Silent Hill f
I don’t really know what to say. It’s a great game. But it’s also dark, even disturbing at times. And I can’t quite figure out the plot (of the first ending) yet

Okay, Silent Hill f is incredible
But it’s also incredibly heavy in its themes, to the point where I actually have to take breaks from time to time

Silent Hill f is amazing
It feels a lot more scary than Silent Hill 2 and even puts an emphasis on running away, a nice contrast to SH2‘s more combat heavy gameplay
