With the support of partners across Europe and our methodology developed in Mitrovica Rock School, these young people are doing more than playing music. They're rewriting what’s possible.

This is the power of Music Connects, one of our programs that brings together youth from different communities to create, rehearse, and perform original music across ethnic lines.

Now, he helps run the school, offering new generations the same chance: to think differently, to feel safe, and to express who they are, all through music.

Together, they applied Musicians Without Borders’ community music methodology—supporting children in reclaiming safety and expression, even beside ruins like a Buddha statue decapitated by the quake.

We stand with the growing call for Keti Koti to be formally recognized as a national holiday in the Netherlands—because true freedom means confronting and acknowledging the full truth of our shared past.

💙Today, we pause, we remember, and we celebrate freedom.

It is a moment to reflect on the violence of colonialism and slavery, and to honor the resilience and strength of those who resisted and survived it.

As an organization working for peace and inclusion through music, we believe in acknowledging the histories that shape our societies and in standing in solidarity with communities affected by injustice—past and present. Keti Koti is part of that history.
