I remember the one on the Grim Sleeper that didn't get any green light from anybody. They were interviewing these guys who kept bringing up not only the killer but other unrelated people's business, with pictures! Probably got people beat up at best. How did they ever think that was a good idea?

Ngl, I thought that was true for longer than I would like to admit. But after the 15th time I heard it I was like "Nah, Americans can't be that dumb"

It's not a new thing. Serial killers have always had groupies, and I even did a case from the 70s where one of the victims was called "the prettiest dead woman" of her city. By her own neighbors! People have always been weird.

Too broke to subscribe right now, but from what I've read I like the way you balance empathy for Aileen and condemnation for her crimes. I've seen too many black or white takes on this case, so the nuance is refreshing

Don't forget the "It was a robbery, officer, look at how the house is trashed!" while the TV, wallets and car keys are sitting there like 👁️👄👁️

To this day, I can't believe he had girls giggling in a courthouse while hearing about things he would have done to them without hesitation. The bar is in hell today but it was nowhere to be found at that time, I fear.

Oh I see. Yeah I'm tired too. At one point, I couldn't even bear to go on YouTube

Well, I think it depends on the angle chosen. Often times, when you research a case you realize how dumb cops (and sometimes politicians) act. But I see your point, yes. A lot of true crime content paints cops as heroes when most times they are barely capable of doing their properly.

Thank you! I got incels sending me death threats on Reddit a few years ago for describing a serial killer as "another mediocre white man". I mean, most times that's what they are!
