Not sure why but postgresql has tons of internal optimizations that might not be the very best, in my experience if you know what index you need MySQL is way better. Maybe you can try to drop the default index that postgresql creates and see if they use the correct one.

I’m curious to see the graph right now, about 40 minutes ago during a mayor debate in São Paulo a candidate struck a chair into another candidate, a lot of people are commenting. Might occur a very unexpected peak in the graph.
