Standing in the non-EU queue at Tenerife airport for a chunk of it. Yay

It was for updates from my local non league football team because I could rely on getting notifications which frankly don't work on pussbook. Binning it now though and campaigning for them to set up on here

Hope it's a great year for you Robin 💚

Scotland, Normandy and Aquitaine today signed the Elledge GTF accord. The auld alliance stands firm

Looking for a way to tangibly support and seeing as I already have all your other books and come to your shows I guess I'm going to have to buy Ice Cream, even though I'm an absolute philistine who doesn't "get" poetry. Maybe I'll have an epiphany!
December 13, 2025 at 11:17 PM
Well done Robin, massive respect for you taking this stance, a truly selfless and brave act. It's great to see so much support for you across bluesky too, accepting the fact we're all rampant woke lefties on here!

Just a fundamental lack of imagination or principles. Pissing their term away trying to win the next election instead of governing. And making a horse's arse even of that.

Dan, do you have any calculations of what the impact would be if the UK aligned with Scottish income tax rates and benefits (free tuition, prescriptions, under 22 bus travel)
November 26, 2025 at 7:21 PM
I get your point but ideally the relevant question would be "are they the right thing to do"

That 69.5% marginal rate in Scotland sure is psychologically painful. I don't really get the logic of the tapering personal allowance rather than just increasing the higher rate tax percentage. Not complaining about tax overall, I'm all for it being increased.

Intrigued by the concept of people who'd take a DNA test to find out if they have Stuart lineage and are also "relatively normal". Waffer thin on the Venn diagram and I'd still vote for Screaming Lord McSutch

Election night would be like 6 x Monster Raving Loony candidates and a wee sad posho at the end trying to fund his failing estate. I'm all the way in on this idea

The lack of a IDGAF option will be skewing the results I expect. Cannot imagine I thing I would care less about

Really enjoyed tonight Robin, thank you!

Ouch that doesn't sound good. Look forward to seeing you tonight though (hopefully!)

I follow the Tolbooth on Facebook but don't recall seeing anything about this show. Just searched for it and there are dozens of Tolbooth posts I've not seen. Absolutely does my head in that Facebook serves up all manner of utter shite but not the stuff I've actively chosen to follow.

I heard it's a done deal. To be awarded in Aberystwythzijjanbania

As a Scottish person I accept I'm probably unwelcome in many parts of England anyway, but I holiday there often. Would 100% avoid the flag bedecked parts. Harrogate was a joy and not a flag shagger to be seen.

Sadly Robin it's just people. We're not a great species

Isn't the problem also that, even if it did improve, a lot of voters (a majority perhaps?) don't realise that reducing inflation doesn't equal reducing food prices? "Going up less fast" doesn't really feel like a win.

If I may offer a bit of feedback, that reads like a BBC article - all the basic facts are there but I have to read between the lines what it means. Recalls are either because a) first team beckons or b) development isn't happening. This is clearly a b, would be interested in your perspective.

Brilliant, wish the world would rewrite their national anthems on these lines
August 30, 2025 at 5:26 PM
Well that's absolutely splendid news, see you there!
