There's a need for some sorts of gestures. "I don't think this won't work so we shouldn't do anything" seems to be the general sentiment around SCOTUS and I don't think it's a good one.

Absolutely true, but the more broad 'left' has been falling down on this one. There should have been protests planned for if the immunity ruling came through; there should be a publish push for impeachment or a special prosecutor. Instead there's a shrug and 'grifters gonna grift' sentiment.
