I just wanted to make a joke about badgering witnesses, so he's a lawyer. Kind of Ace Attorney inspired, I guess.

I imagine he's kind of uptight, and sort of a nest freak, but when he gets really motivated on a case he can't stop until he gets it right.

I think the issue was trying to make the top frame too thick. Seems to be working better with thinner frames, but I still am not sure how I'll handle the coloring of the tortoiseshell pattern.

Don't worry about the other drawings they're not relevant.

Have a Wrecky Wrench for fall.

I've found that it's fun to do doodles of him being nervous as an outlet when I'm personally feeling anxious, but I didn't want to leave him only associated with negative feelings for me, so I wanted to draw him just peacefully chilling.

I guess I just gravitate towards those colors, lol. The reddish brown is an attempt to replicate my actual hair color, and the blues and purples I just happen to like.

It also seemed like something that could look close to the official colors but still be different enough to feel unique.

Finally figured out a Mario-sona I like (a Mario species rather than just someone drawn in that style). I like the new Rocky Wrench, but agree they could coexist with the old ones.

I imagine that the airship parts he salvages are from ones that Mario took down while rescuing Peach, haha.

New character for #hogust (I thought doing the dog-themed August hashtag would be too obvious).

I wanted to give him pretty much complete coverage from below the head, but I ran out of ideas. That's the joy of the temporary tattoo idea, I can add and remove whatever I want.

At first when I saw this headline my thought was "of course the proportions are off, you always make a large statue top-heavy so it doesn't look weird from down below; you won't see it head-on."

But today with the ways cameras are used, I guess you do see it at multiple angles. So it's interesting.

However, the EU version of this puzzle is altered, and in that version, August 12th is actually the wrong date. Instead of asking for a three-letter answer, it asks you to figure out the accurate date.

The game technically has different dates to take place on, depending on which country you're in.
Dropstone was founded 50 years ago, and the founders commissioned a stone sculpture to commemorate that day. Unfortunately the dozy sculptor managed to engrave the wrong date onto it. The whole village had to live with the erroneous sculpture until some bright spark realised that converting it in a certain way would enable the correct date to be displayed. Think about what the sculpture could have been converted into in order to display the correct date. On which day was Dropstone founded? Answer in four digits (DD/MM).

Fun fact: August 12th (today) is the day that the Japan and US versions of Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box are set. Puzzle #30 in those games describes that date as the day of Dropstone's founding, and during the game the town's inhabitants are celebrating its 50th anniversary.
A Layton puzzle that reads: On the day Dropstone was founded 50 years ago, the villagers toasted with red wine and danced late into the night. They also built this statue, engraving it with the word RED and the date 8-12. Part of the statue is shaped like a wineglass and can be filled with water from the spout at the top. While the statue describes the villagers' activities on the day of the founding, it can also show where they all found themselves the day after the festivities. Can you figure out where the villages were? Answer in three letters.

Now I've got myself wanting to try doing an ambigram again. The obvious choice would be the double Zs as the center, but the MU becoming DOG worked too well. That leaves the first Z to become the A, which was tricky, and it may not be as legible as I'd like overall, but I think it works fairly well.
