4. The infrastructure makes sense, but software as a utility software, ever growing and changing as it is, does not. There will come a time where we outgrow "applications" in the same way we outgrew punchcards, and floppy disks. The future is a seamless virtual assistant... maybe even robots.

3. innovation. The unique thing about software is that it is designed and written. Should a person have their cash cow ripped from their hands BECAUSE it was too successful and the public needs Zoom, Citrix, Facetime, etc.

2. you subscribe to them. Sure they promise you more updates and better features, but really it's a means for them to increase their bottom line while doing less. Software as a "utility" takes ownership of someone's intellectual property, props it up for as long as possible, and works against
