Hi Richard - you could have asked which of my kids I love the most and it wouldn't have been harder than this...
#5debutalbums9094
1. The Las
2. Dummy - Portishead
3. Foxbase Alpha - Saint Etienne
4. Definitely Maybe - Oasis
5. Experience - Prodigy.

If only you could have spun Hole at work - they may have snuck in...

Obviously Debbie is the star but Clem Burkes drumming 👌

Must be favourite for the win or will people swerve it presuming it will be safe?

In my 5. Classic of it's time.

They totally did.

Saturn 5. Remember buying an 'Indie 20' compilation (remember them?) that also included some Radiohead and Blur but that was the standout for me.

Enjoyed this but so many tough calls!
1. Since I left you - Avalanches.
2. Thunder Lightning Strike - the Go Team
3. Is this it - the Strokes
4. KY - Lemonjelly
5. Funeral - Arcade Fire.

Can't believe it; no space for the Coral, the Streets, Bent, Badly Drawn Boy or Poly Spree #5debutalbums0004

Shoe in for my 5. Still sounds fresh today.

It started so well but the lack of resolution at the end renders it worthless at the end. A classic example of why I avoid so many American shows - the stories never have a denouement - see also Lost and Hand Maids Tale... Investments require returns to feel worthwhile.

Great word for them. The energy is relentless!

Talk to her about them and tell her of your regret. There's nothing that comforts the grief I've experienced in my life more than knowing that others still think of those I miss too.

Went for Beautiful Ones to nudge it towards the final but Animal Nitrate will get my final vote.

Nailed on for my 5. Their best in my view.

Guilty. Bury of Sains in Don of Croy.

Tough group. Coin toss with Drowners but still going for Beautiful ones
June 13, 2025 at 9:07 PM
My colleague says 'bless me' before anyone else gets a chance to say bless you. Annoys me that she doesn't have faith that we'll respond.

Thanks Rich. Can't help feeling that with more time some more jazz albums could have elbowed their way in... I'm going with....
1. VU & Nico.
2. Bob D - Blonde on Blonde
3. John Coltrane - my Favourite Things.
4. Sam Cooke - Live at Harlem Square Club.
5. Supremes - where did our love go

So Young. Animal Nitrate doesn't need any help though presuming it reaches the final it will definitely be my vote. Still remember their performance scandalising the stuffy Brit awards - classic.

Beautiful ones. I quote the 'if your babies are going crazy...' line at nippers on a semi regular basis.

Deserved. THE quintessential 90s British dance album
