Salesforce, for example, already admitted they're selling their agents at a huge loss because they believe they can claw the money back later once companies form a dependency on it and are locked into licenses. The first hit is always free, but these LLM models are not cheap to run, at all.

A quick search tells me the 1992 cost was £9.99, and they were in Mk VII power armour. I think I may have a slightly older Pile Of Shame, all Mk VI, of course.

I've worked in a tech role for 30 years (please don't calculate my age) and I still dread anything that requires working in a group. Even in "highly skilled" fields the median is still dumb. When a senior developer needs to ask how to calculate the area of a rectangle, you know you're in trouble.

It's impossible to tell if someone has plagiarised another persons work or not without also having seen the original. AI draws from everything it could pilfer from whole internet, the chance they've seen it all is zero.
