Interested mostly in news & politics. Here to stay engaged with what's occurring & occasionally sound off when it all gets a bit much.
Team Reeves is right. The gloomy prognosticators are going to appear pretty foolish in a couple of years.

We should increase tax on everybody wealthier than me. Otherwise, forget it.

I've finished Wordle so I'll treat this as a quiz. I'm saying, none?

This story does not surprise me unduly. Portion size in the average midlands pub is, shall we say, generous.

I've spent decades watching some twit or other on the news threatening to leave the country. They never do, unfortunately.

Also, they got exactly what they paid for. His profile. He was excellent value for money. They should be grateful.

Culture War stuff from the Guardian. The campaign shines a bright light on Bristol Councils failure to provide essential services to those that need them. Caravans/vans in city parks are not the answer. The council have been forced to acknowledge this simple truth & finally act.

I've long held this view. The wider electorate are smart enough to know when they are being played. His recent DOGE copycatting nonsense is a case in point. Tedious & witless.

But there's so many how do they stand out from the crowd? PS I've noticed one or two popping up on UK radio recently. I'd rather they didn't tbh.

Like our libel laws?

If this doesn't lead to more legislative action from our political leaders, nothing will. Don't rely on our food producers & retailers. They will continue to shovel sugar & fats into their processed crap for as long as they are allowed.

Far too gloomy. 3years+ before the next election. At this stage, nobody has the slightest idea as to the context in which it will be held.

Back so soon?
May 20, 2025 at 4:09 PM
Ah yes! That answers the question. Thanks for your advice. I'll pass it on to Kyiv. They'll appreciate it, no doubt. Bye.

Europe
May 20, 2025 at 3:18 PM
Of course. So the first 17 rounds of sanctions have not achieved that goal. We can make a reasonable assumption therefore, that number 18 won't either. What then will the EU do to achieve it's objective?
May 20, 2025 at 3:16 PM
Bristol Council are testing that principle to breaking point with 60+ caravans, vans & even tents parked permanently on Bristol Downs.

PS: Mashood Hussain leaving behind his name & address clearly as thick as a brick as well as being an antisocial twat.

Cowboy on his day off?
May 20, 2025 at 1:59 PM
'Stunned'? They haven't been paying attention, have they.
May 20, 2025 at 1:50 PM
Bristol & tbf I can go during office hours. Fly-tipping def' a problem here also. Fee avoidance by cowboys & the householders who pay them equally to blame.

See also forensic interviewers. Gets flustered & rude very, very quickly.

My experience is very different. Easy online booking, arrive on time & dump permitted waste. No more queues, helpful staff. Much better system.
May 20, 2025 at 1:33 PM
Political figure being criticised shock! I stand by the critique. 17 (count them) rounds of sanctions. Why? Too slow, weak & ineffective.

No. She's more than capable of speaking for herself. She issued the post.
