you have to criticize their way they play with their digital toys. There are people (mainly children) that are incredibly susceptible to the marketing and whatnot and gacha games also typically market towards children but that's a separate issue and doesn't have a lot to do with the games themselves

I don't see how it's much different than playing other games that want you to check in daily like an animal crossing game or something. Gacha games are inherently predatory and getting you to spend a lot of time in them is a slight part of that, but also the average gacha game player doesn't stick

Every game is designed to waste your time that's why they make them fun. I think like "my digital toys are better than your digital toys" is just a weird take in general

This hurts me to say about ALL gacha games though because i Really like Limbus Company and the writing genuinely says things but it being a gacha game still drags it down sooo much especially a Korean one like the Korean gacha player community have harassed the team behind it multiple times

I'm not saying the writing can't be good but I've never seen a gacha game say anything meaningful. like project sekai had to tiptoe around saying mizuki is transgender because if they did they'd actually be taking a stance on something.
