Open lasers can be safe, we have been bolting them on to cnc’s for years. You just need to make sure you have good glassed rated for that laser and keep any cats locked out if the room, seriously my cat briefly set himself on fire when i fired up one
of my lasers.

Things have been disappearing off the internet archive lately too. Print stuff out and laminate it. Stick it in a metal thermos and it makes a great cheap time capsule
