9) MTG is only different inasmuch as she didn't want to cozy up to the capitalist class the way elected officials usually do. That's admirable, but not nearly enough for a redemption arc. She's still a hypocrite who believes in horrible things.

8) She's also correct that foreign wars are bleeding the country dry. She's correct in opposing AI state moratoriums. She's correct on opposing 50-year-mortgages. But all those positions are nonstarters for the capitalist uniparty.

7) But there's another layer here. A populist layer. And for this part, anyway, I'll give her a little credit. She was correct about the government abandoning the American people economically. No help for anything, and everything is more & more unaffordable. This is demonstrably true.

6) The funny thing is, she's arriving at the correct conclusion (it's basically all just a corporate uniparty now between Dems and the GOP), but only because no one else wanted to go along with her QAnon fever dream. She really believed, in her heart of hearts, that this was the way.

5) In other words, MTG's entire mission was kinda Quixotic. And it's not lost on me that she's only leaving because Republicans in power didn't actually "trust the process" or weren't fiercely loyal to Trump the way she thought she was. She's realizing that they believe in nothing.

4) The problem, of course, is that QAnon was only, barely, partially right: there absolutely are pedos in power. But that's about the extent of how they're correct. It isn't just Dems, and a lot of the specifics Q has talked about are, of course, dead wrong and easily provable as such.

3) When I say "true believer," what I mean is that a lot of Republicans used the QAnon stuff to cynically garner votes, and then forgot about it cuz they didn't actually care all that much. Not MTG. She cared. She believed it. She thought it was her life's work to follow through.

2) In fact, when she says there's "no 4D Chess game being played," that's likely a nod to QAnon, who long said that Trump's plan was an intricate game of 4D chess played against monstrous pedophilic Democrats. But ultimately, reality bumped up to her (QAnon's) perception of American politics.
