I'm an unapologetic liberal.
But I also believe top/down is at least as important as left/right.
I think that is why we have heard crickets from the Obama's during this shit-show. Once you are in the point-oh-one club, it's hard to get motivated to rock the boat.
Hope I'm wrong.

Amazon isn't perfect, but it's so darn easy to buy stuff, reasonably priced, with fast shipping and a simple return policy. But after hearing that the owner of the Washington post (Bezos) refused to run ads against Elon, I'm winding down and weaning off. The American Oligarchs are winning. Resist.

As I watch the norms of our political system crumble down, I keep thinking that I shouldn’t perseverate on what happened, but more on how will this impact me and those I love, and what can I do to improve the situation.

So, I bring up Tim because he is a reminder to myself that if I’m concerned about something, that at the very least, I should put some energy into doing something about it.

Like a cat leaving a dead bird at the backdoor, he would take pride in laying his benign mandate at our feet, smug in knowing he had done his part.

Tim would usually consume his daily news online, or via the radio on his way to work, or by reading the newspaper, and then disseminate his boiled-down interpretation. He would always cap this off with a conclusion on what should be done. But he never did it.

The co-worker who excelled at wandering was Tim. Tim was a nice enough guy. He was pretty smart. For a good part of every day, he would have a coffee mug in hand, and like a bee pollinating flowers, buzz into just about every cubby in our group, and disperse his thoughts of the day.

As I look back on my life, I feel very fortunate in that the place I worked the longest, was also the place I liked the best, which was Southwestern Bell. I had a desk job in a cubicle, which didn’t have a door, which lead to people wander in willy-nilly.
