IT. Haven’t picked this book up for 30 years. Mildly shocked at his sexualisation of a preteen girl. Also (and there’s a chance that my skim reading adhd brain missed it) the first time the name Pennywise is mentioned is random and there doesn’t seem to be any explanation for it.

It really is considering the heavyweights behind it. The film is shmaltzy and a bit Hallmark.

The book is more nuanced and has a far more intricate story line. Should have been a series to use more of the story. The film is very dumbed down. I was disappointed.

When I lived in America I knew that the first thing I said to people would have to be repeated cos they weren’t listening to what I said; just trying to work out the accent. I’m a proper Bristolian so it’s very ooh arrrrr.
