I always figured this is how it works.
6 panel comic. A slick-looking game show host hands a giant check to a regular guy on the street. There's no background, they're both just standing there. "Congratulations! You are the recipient of the Random Big Check prize!" Guy: "Wow!!" The host hands the guy a giant pen. "Now you just gotta endorse it. Here, use this!" Guy: "Oh. Uh.. thanks." Host: "Sure thing, buddy!" The guy signs the check. "I guess I better get to the bank..." Host: "Way ahead of you!" he gets out a giant envelope. Guy: "Uhhhh..." Both of them arrive at a bank. The guy carries the envelope to the teller. "Um, Hi, I'd like to deposit this oversized novelty check, I guess?" The teller smiles: "Of course! Just use our ATM, right over here." She gestures to a giant ATM panel. Host: "Oooh, convenient!" Guy: You can't be serious."

"Call Jane"

This work is an homage to the Jane Collective, which consisted mostly of Jewish women. The "Janes" provided safe, discreet abortion access to low income women in the early 1970s Chicago when abortion was mostly illegal in the USA.

More in the alt.

It is one of the ads they placed in a paper. The background of the illustration is stylized to look like a page from an old "Yellow Pages" phone book. These are citations of Jewish texts addressing social justice, civil disobedience, abortion, and medicine. A spelling-corrected version of my previous illustration: Hebrew calligraphy in dark green stretches in lines across the image. Negative space makes room for a simple representation of an inflatable frog costume with a blue bandana. That shape consists of the English translation of the Hebrew, in a lighter green, and in much smaller text. -- Famously, the Egyptian tyrant causes Egypt to be overrun with frogs because he refuses to free the Hebrew people, but there are additional details that make this a fun one to ponder. For one, the Hebrew says "the frog came up" - ONE frog - even though the rest of the time it says "frogs." So there are a few explanations rabbis have come up with to explain this. One is that a single frog multiplied to create swarms. A more creative explanation is that there was a singular giant frog who traveled and brought destruction. Jewish social media was sharing videos of the Portland Frog protester with the caption, "One Big Frog! One Big Frog!" Of course the frog protesters did multiply, and many were seen in crowds all over the world on "No Kings" Day. This calligraphic work takes the verses addressing the frog plague and combines them to form a simple rendering of the Portland Frog protester. The frog figure itself is made up of the English translations of the Hebrew around it. At the bottom left my signature is in the shape of a lily pad.

"Tzefardea Tzedek" (Frog of Righteousness)

As soon as the Portland Frog became a meme, Jewish social media blew up with jokes about the 2nd Passover plague - tzefarde'a (frogs) - and the Rabbinical commentary around it. I knew I had to make a calligraphy piece encompassing all of it. (more in alt.)

I've been thinking about Matt Furie a lot during this period of political frog realignment, so I made this comic dedicated to him.
Color comic with multiple panels. Pepe the Frog, a lanky frog with a stoner expression on his face - but somewhat sad - walks away from a burning pile of 4chan logos and "Kek"s. He sees some commotion and perks up. In the next panel, he's shocked at the sight of dancing frogs, a la the Portland Frog inflatable costume protesters. One frog notices him, and reaches for his hand. The final panel shows the frog leading Pepe by the hand to the other dancing protesting frogs. The frog says "Frogs together strong," and Pepe says "feels good, man."

Use one piece to convince people to follow you!

At the top right and bottom left are pomegranate shapes in red. The top one says "BS"D" which means "with heaven's help," and the bottom contains the seal on all of my "Ner Tamid Series" works - a stylized lam with the words "We will outlive them" and "Justice Justice Shall You Pursue" in Yiddish and Hebrew respectively.

A woman in full armor sits in profile under a date palm tree. She holds a torch in her left hand and the scales of justice in her right. A bee is below her foot, as well as the name "Devorah." A radiating sphere made up of Hebrew letters is below the scales. -- The original card shows the emperor with his foot above a bee, which was my cue to turn this card into a representation of the prophet/judge/general/singer Deborah (which means “bee”). Her name is below her in Hebrew. She is described as being a “firey woman,” hence the torch she holds out. The scales of course represent her judgeship over Israel. The Hebrew letters in the circle represent each tribe. Deborah sits below a date-palm, which is where she was approached for judgment. A large hand with its palm open and turned up comes out of a cloud and holds a large chalice, with streams of water flowing out and down into a pond. Hebrew writing is on the cup and at the bottom part of two of the streams. -- There is a lesser-known Jewish ritual known as “Mayim Achronim,” or “after waters.” Talmudic commentary on the ritual- which is performed after meals - indicates it’s meant for washing the fingertips of any salt of Sodom. This could be for practical reasons as well as ritual. However a kabbalistic interpretation says the water is meant to be an offering to Sitra Achra - the “Other Side,” where demons dwell. Think of it as throwing a bone to a dog. A simple edit, the cup has “mayim achronim” on it and resembles the piece of judaica it references. The hand holding it has the waters flowing from the fingertips into the cup, then down into the Sitra Achra, which is etched upside down in the black border of the card. “Malach Sedomit” makes its way toward it in streams on either side. Ten dark circles with smaller grey circles inside them dot the card symmetrically in 3 columns. They look like round eyes. The Hebrew word Da'at is vertical in white at the center. There are also flowers sitting around the circles, with Hebrew lettering at the top and bottom. -- I mean, I HAD to make the ten of pentacles a rendition of the Kabbalist Tree of Life sephirot. They’re not in the same order as usual, because the shape is different- I balanced them out in a way that makes sense to me. Each sephirah is named in white, with “eitz Chayim Hi” (it is a tree of life) at the bottom and a stylized “Ein Sof” at the top. The manifested sephirah “Da’at” is in the center. Two women dance together below a stylized sun with rays and arrows extending out of it. Hebrew lettering is written within it, and on the dresses of the women. -- According to the Zohar, when the sun and the moon are one, the 12 tribes manifest. Hence, the combo of the words Shemesh and Yerach at the center of the sun. A letter for each tribe extends out, as well as arrows shooting out at the speed of light (Perek Shirah 2). The sun rises and sets (zirach and bo - at the outermost ring of the sun), and in between, one sings hallel to the name of Adonai, from morning (boker) to evening (erev) - the two words written on the dresses of the dancing women.
