Actually, the more I think about it, the fact that Trump is bitching that it’s difficult to negotiate with Canada is a good thing, means there’s push back from Canada.

It got us back to square one - yeah! It also told Trump that he can walkaway anytime he wants something we’re refusing to give.
The American leaders had been complaining for awhile about the DST. Even a week ago Champaign said they were going ahead with it.

You are right Trump has allowed us to negotiate with him, that was the exchange. A negotiation that he will only honour until he feels he wants more.

But since he’s the one that signed the last deal and isn’t really honoring it by finding ways around it (like the fentanyl bs), giving him anything without getting something in return seems more like loss and not a win for us.

That’s right, Trump does Trump. Like a bully, if he feels the bullying works, he doesn’t compromise once you’ve given him what he want, he just takes more cause he figure you’ll give to him. Trump is a winner takes all. Only one person can walk away feeling like they won, and that’s him.
