Peace on Earth, and Merry Christmas to all.

The goal of this post is not to spoil the merriment of the Christmas season. Rather, on this holiest of days, I see it as a moral duty to remind those the system has failed that they are not forgotten and anyone else who will listen that these injustices haven’t slowed down - not even for Christmas.

As a Christian, I believe compassion is humanity’s greatest strength. Every day we fail to mitigate the cruelty of the federal government’s immigration policies is a day we have failed to love our neighbor and Christ Himself.

The majority of those men and women taken into custody have no criminal conviction except the alleged “crime” of dreaming of a better life and choosing our Commonwealth to make that dream a reality.
