I understand it’s kind of a catch-22, but there’s legit reasons to be driving in. Not everyone is served by it and it doesn’t have great hours where it does serve. Congestion pricing is always active, just higher 5a-9p. If you’re leaving work at 12a, you’re entering the zone the high rate.

A lot of my coworkers would take Metro North if they could, but GCT being closed between ~12am & ~5am really limits your options. There's a plan to grant MNR trains into Penn, but it's still years away. Congestion pricing without significant mass transit improvements first is mistake imo. 2/2

Driving in manhattan sucks, but there are large gaps overnight in Mass Transit schedules that sometimes make it unavoidable if you don't work a standard schedule. I've left work, driven 50 miles home and been in bed before the next train would have left Penn. GCT is significantly worse. 1/?

You keep making arguments based on what you think other people are thinking. It’s wild.

I really don’t know how to respond to this. Invariably and never are very strong words and you’re using them to describe the thoughts and motivations of other people. I dislike self checkout and all of the above is laughably incorrect about me. Consider maybe you’re wrong about others, too.

It’s possible to have both self checkout and cashiers. It does not have to be all one or the other. Someone advocating for humans on registers does not inherently want there to be no self-checkout
