My understanding is basically we've reached the current limit. FPGA hardware that could be both affordable and powerful enough for maybe a PS2/Dreamcast is at least a decade away. Even then the complexity jump in architecture would be a massive undertaking to build. Maybe some handhelds are in reach

Once things are maybe normal again... Nationalize polling. A non partisan agency, leadership is recruited from academia to apply.and is appointed with 3/4 of sitting governors. they post up and ask questions to be referenced in policy making outside inelastic demand businesses like grocery stores.

Here's my move: gonna read more, replay all my favorite games, rewatch all my favorite shows and anime. There's really nothing forcing us to engage with their hellscape.

I don't believe MSFT/Xbox has it in them right now to make good decisions. If they stumble into one, I don't trust them to maintain and build on that idea in a way that benefits consumers. This mental block is insurmountable for the foreseeable future for me.
