Husband, parent, not as young as I once was!
My firstborn was the same - he wanted to know what was written on the Ketchup bottle so he worked it out. T'other one denied any ability (despite some evidence to the contrary) because he didn't want people to stop reading to him... then he got Nanny Macfee and read it till it disintegrated...

Exactly that - I may even have been typing... or just in a sensor blind spot 🤔

So many different toilets... but that happening _when actually working_ is even more unnerving!

This is not new, I was surprised (some while ago) to discover that a not insignificant number of people never bothered to remember or otherwise record URLs because basically Google would just find them...

The posted just about every week.

Issac, the founder, moved on - I hope for the best for the rest of the team (the ones I talked to were smart)

That and the boombox... owned (or at least had use of) one, but the shoulder thing is so not...

8 track was fairly specifically a car thing 🤔 Can't remember if I saw one in the wild (in the UK)

Bill Gates - who is trying to spend his money on minor things like eliminating malaria - said that _as well as_ combating climate change, we need to worry about the health of people which will suffer as a consequence of climate change.

But sure, pick on the one that might actually care...

You can get a dog lead that says "don't bother my dog" but there is no consideration for allergies or for "uncomfortable" (which can run to terrified)

So... I can stop being polite?

Your pets, your choices - I spend 365 days a year being scared by dogs... there is a balance here but...

Especially as the change of trains is Kings Cross to St Pancras which is one of the less stressful things to have to do and pretty much puts you on the sane train you'd be on anyway...

Because if MS does it then surely it's OK 🤦

I mean it's not as if I'd want to use a flag in a factory lambda for DI or anything because branch by abstraction is not really a thing is it 😖

I hsve a stupid amount of swimming to do next year, it's getting over the fourth quarter slump that's the challenge.

Direct link: github.com/localstack-d...

Because reddit won't let me look at that without jumping through hoops, and I assume others will have the same problem

Microsoft made their feature flag client async some while ago (a mistake - wrong thing, right reasons). Same was true of the Open Feature client last time I looked 😟

Now I have to get up (it's 06:12) and go swimming... thank you?
October 29, 2025 at 6:12 AM
Still very useful though... in a "you don't ever want to do this, but if you absolutely have to it's priceless" sense (-:

It's a "snow day" - we know how to deal with those, this is much the same...

The challenge is that even living on eu-west-1 there are things that depend on things (within AWS) that are bound to the az you don't want to be on 😖

There were places that were just NO, but there are places where not taking the next generation was all but inconceivable - where there were never not family areas (despite the appalling behaviour of some "fans")
October 17, 2025 at 8:06 PM
Yes they were... always (surprising as that may be). Maybe not every club, maybe not every game but definitely more than not

So far as I'm aware, this has been a thing in Germany for a while. The requirements were a bit specific - but aIl I read was one article sometime in the past...
