If y’all got proper scientific answers, let me know, even if it’s at quantum physics level. And yes, I’ve done my own research, but none of it comes close to scratching this new itch I have welled deep in my brain.

What has me at a loss is what sources say. “It’s impossible to have a dream of something that has never existed before”. BULLSHIT, I just had a déjà-rêvé that FUCKED ME UP SIDEWAYS. What do I even call it now?? Because that was NOT it, and I can’t accept the fact I defy the laws of dream science.

A particular frame in the game, down to the action/position of my character, the details of the location on the map, and current appearance/color of my character’s clothes, appeared in that dream, a game which has never personally existed to me until recently. But that’s not what fucks me up rn.

Keep in mind, and believe me when I say this: with 100% certainty, I have NEVER heard or seen ANYTHING about this game before I started playing it, not once on the internet or from others I know. Not even for a split subconscious second. This is where I’m horrified and can no longer ignore it.

With that all in mind, let’s go back to what I said before but now with more context:
I recently, a few weeks ago, started playing a game called “Palia” (it’s great, you should play it, btw), which is, I think, only two years old by now. And some months ago, I had one of those shorter dreams.

What I mean by “conscious creativity” is the quote, “the brain cannot create new faces”, which may be true. Most, if not all, things we make artistically are based on or use other aspects of pre-existing things, including in dreams.

Now, let’s consider how dreams in general work. Even if it’s via a passing glance, your subconscious catalogues EVERYTHING you see, even if you don’t remember seeing it (can be people, places, or objects). That’s why dreams all seem so “new” and wild. The same applies to conscious creativity.

Sounds like typical dreams, right? Wake up and forget it completely. Until the déjà-rêvé comes months or even entire years later. Those dreams stay in my subconscious, obviously, I don’t really forget them, that’s how it works. It freaks me out every time, but I usually brush it off after.
September 11, 2025 at 4:53 PM
These shorter dreams often happen in blurs (detailed but in broken parts), things I don’t remember in the morning, but they’re often set in the real world with me going about a normal day but with weirder things happening on the side. Like a distraction in my peripheral obscuring the normal stuff.

With those dreams, especially ones from my childhood, comes reoccurring dreams. The same environments, but with different people, different me, different things to do, they’re long, strangely cohesive, and often emotional. And on rare occasions, I have shorter ones that make very little sense.
September 11, 2025 at 4:53 PM
I often have weird dreams that don’t mean anything at all. I only ever had nightmares as a kid (not important now), but they’re typically lucid (in an uncontrolled manner), I usually have little power over them, but I feel and see environments in great detail, sometimes even people’s faces.
September 11, 2025 at 4:53 PM
I have déjà-rêvé only less than a few times a year (maybe), but this one was of things I have NEVER seen or heard of in my life. I’m inside gaming most of the time and I don’t typically roam socials very often, so I RARELY see anything past what I do daily. Keep this in mind for later.
