He would profess his hatred for sex offenders, saying that killing them gave him "the best feeling I've had in a long time", and that he would continue to kill such inmates unless he was executed. Beamon was sentenced to death but died by suicide while on death row in 2020.

Three years later, he pleaded guilty to the crimes and received two concurrent life sentences without the possibility of parole. He is now imprisoned at a maximum security penitentiary.

The murders went unsolved for nearly four years, until the husband of his ex-wife called a tip line and implicated him. He maintained his innocence to the end.
