Today, for brunch, I made homemade blueberry-lemon compote (no sugar added) and cinnamon-vanilla pancakes.

Since my little sister didn't eat all the leftover whipped cream....

I made strawberry compote (with a little lemon) to go over the top of mini angel food cakes with the whipped cream on top!

A sort of angel food strawberry shortcake.

Monday Leftover Challenge!

I had leftover rotisserie chicken and bacon fried rice. So I made a quick "fusion" sauce, cooked frozen broccoli, grabbed a spinach wrap, and got to work!

Sauce: ketchup, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, sriracha, raw honey, chili crisp (香辣脆, xiāng là cuì), ginger.

A quick charcuterie board for two and a movie on the couch.

Boursin garlic & fine herbs cheese, chili crackers, Ritz crackers, teriyaki steak bites, bacon, grape tomatoes, white grapes, skewers of Amarena cherries and pineapple chunks, ube tea cookies, and chocolate-covered almonds.

Oh! I picked up some pre-cooked duck a couple of weeks ago to play around with flavors. I did Shanghai-style duck tacos wrapped in cong you bing scallion pancakes. The hoisin and soy sauce go great with the duck!

So I went to Papa to ask him about Scotches. He was really excited to tell me all about them, and now we're doing a tasting....

Anyhow, he showed me this one and said it's acceptable to use in making chocolates. Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban Port Cask Finish, 12 years.

An idea popped into my head a while ago, so it was time to experiment!
