It's not just one word:

"Y2K seems like a joke now, but in 1999 people were really freaking out" and "seemingly small software glitch" are ignorant takes on the risks of Y2K.

"widespread errors leading to mass panic" ignores that those errors could've also led to actual death and destruction.
