I’d love to see more balance. Maybe a character who chooses tea instead of soju, or someone who says “no” without it being awkward. K-dramas don’t need to remove drinking, but showing more options could feel refreshing and still Korean.

This study shows how often alcohol appears in Korean dramas and how positive it looks on screen. After reading it, I noticed scenes I used to ignore. Now I see how normalized alcohol is in storytelling.

K-dramas show Korean drinking culture pretty casually, and sometimes it feels normal even when the situation isn’t. Since fans copy styles and habits from dramas, it makes me think do producers realise how global their influence is now?

If I promote a non-idol rapper, I’d choose GuiXiang. She isn’t polished like idol groups; she’s real, expressive, and uses hip hop to show her own personality. Her style represents how Asian hip hop is becoming more diverse and independent.

This style gets attention online because it’s bold and easy to share. Her energy, visuals, and delivery fit perfectly with short video culture, which helps Chinese rap grow faster across platforms.

Some people think hip hop must follow one style, but this song proves the genre is flexible. GuiXiang makes a strong, playful performance that still matches hip hop’s core values: attitude, rhythm, and self expression. It’s hip hop, just through a different cultural lens.

Hip hop shifts when it enters new cultures, and China adds its own flavor. GuiXiang mixes bright visuals, strong attitude, and local jokes. It doesn’t follow the “struggle only” idea of Western hip hop. Instead, it shows how artists reshape the genre to fit their own world.

www.bbc.com/news/enterta... People debate what “real hip hop” is, but this track shows authenticity can come from many places. The BBC article shows how Asian rappers build their own style, and slang makes the music feel honest even if it’s not like U.S. rap.

Manga is also huge in the West now. In the U.S., almost half of comic sales are manga. I think people like that it’s different from Western comics more emotional, more character driven, and easier to follow.

A lot of manga is turned into anime, games, and even stage shows. So people can enter the story from anywhere TikTok edits, anime clips, gaming, or the manga itself. That keeps the whole world interested.

One reason manga works so well across countries is because the drawings make emotions easy to understand. Even if the setting is Japanese, the feelings are universal friendship, fear, goals, struggles. It’s easy to relate to. #JapanesePopCulture #MangaCulture

Virtual influencers are changing marketing in East Asia. Japan, Korea and China mix digital characters with real people in different ways. Future campaigns will probably use both styles together.

Transparency is another issue. In China, some virtual influencers are run by major tech companies, but audiences don’t always know who writes their content. When a character looks real, followers sometimes forget that everything is scripted.

Some fans in East Asia care a lot about authenticity. If a virtual influencer looks stiff or too perfect, people might not trust the content. Brands want control, but the character still needs to feel believable.
