It's tragic having to say goodbye to a good pair.
The leather on these boots has been regularly treated with a product containing lanolin and beeswax so they're soft as butter and worth the outlay.

I do love working with ignorant parents.

Of course teachers are trained in GDPR. And it's refreshed annually.

And I can guarantee that when the school the OP's child attends is inspected, parents will STILL tell the inspector they don't get enough information.

Nova Twins were at Focus Wales. Excellent. Likewise Gruff Rhys.
Some of the less well-known acts were terrific as well.
Got to love a festival where I get to sleep in my own bed.

Since then we've seen Perfume Genius (again) at Century Hall in Manchester, and last night was Bootleg Beatles at Liverpool Philharmonic.

Like I said, a leaner year than of late, but some superb acts seen.

On to 2026!

I thought Green Man in August was the best line-up I've known. Highlights were John Grant, Big Special, Getdown Services, Kneecap, CMAT, Wet Leg, Perfume Genius, Underworld, Divorce, Urban Folk Quartet, and Slipped Disco at the "hidden" Wishbone tent
The weather helped, but what a fantastic weekend

One weekend in July was a proper nostalgia fest - Altered Images, The Christians and Human League in Llangollen followed by ELO at the NIA in Brum. Lovely and sad to see Jeff Lynne struggle through - he looks like half a man when he's on stage without a guitar.

If there is a hell, this would be the soundtrack

Am I going to hell for laughing at this?

You're assuming there are no half-tiles at the edges and that the hall is perfectly rectangular.
My senior school hall had a small entranceway, pillars at the side and an apron leading down to the stage. Plenty of calculating for 14-y-o me to do to work out the number of tiles.

Unexpected?

Top reintroduction of the word "dolt" into everyday usage.
Well done.

Old King Cole?
Has a certain ring to it...

Since I'm not the one blaming someone for the crimes of an institution that was being dismantled even as she was being born, I hardly think I'm the naive party here.
QEII was never queen of the empire. She can and should be blamed for a great deal, but not that.

I'm anti-monarchist and definitely anti-imperialist, but even I couldn't hold the British Empire against her, given that it ceased to exist in 1931, more than two decades before she took the throne.
