"..we see it now with Braverman on migration, does Braverman really want 2 sort out the problem with small boats, no, she wants to exploit it, does she really think that the Rwanda policy's the thing that's going 2 fix this problem? No, it's a way of exploiting it politically..."

"U can have whatever criticism u want of Blair's government or any government that went before it, but in my lifetime, in ur lifetime, most politicians whether we like them or not, have genuinely been trying 2 wrestle with problems in their in-tray. What the populist does is try to exploit them"

Thanks for the thread @eliothiggins.bsky.social .
I watched a talk of yours on youtube about 'disordered discourse' but am still confused why you've used the adjective 'disordered', what are you juxtaposing it against? What would be 'ordered' discourse?

You mean you actually read all those books and write those Origin story scripts yourself?!!!

Are you mad?

You could be spending that time eating ice cream or something.

Thanks,
That clarifies things.
So assuming the deficit remained constant for 10 years at 1.8trillion then you'd expect 36+18=54trillion
whereas if it becomes 2.2trillion then in 10 years it will be 58trillion

I was a bit confused by this episode.
The stat seems to be raise the debt (36 trillion) by 4trillion over 10 years as if this is huge. Does this mean each year the debt gets 4trillion bigger or just 400billion? Because the debt in 2023 was 2+trillion bigger than in 2022 (31 vs 33 trillion)

Anyone?

I also figured stopping 'liking' is important as well.

I hear what ur saying but the implicit assumption is that views=exposure to adverts. So in the short term ur right, but in the longer term, people like me dilute that correlation. Imagine for e.g. everyone found a way to block all the adverts?
