It’s Mountain Monday! Since the Fall season is upon u, here is a pic from Shenandoah National Park in Virginia taken a few years ago. Beautiful fall colors exploding on the mountains. Highly recommend!

Saw this on a walk yesterday in Chicago 😍. Yes, there are moments of peace, and nature going about its work, amidst the urban hustle. I ❤️ ❤️ honeybees and I always stop to watch them for a few moments if I notice them when I’m out.

Some pretty flowers growing against a privacy fence in a Chicago alley. Even though it is the start of fall, the flowers still bloom. Even though many Chicago alleys are old and dirty, the flowers still bloom. May flowers still bloom in your life, despite any challenges or troubles 🙏

Free music/dancing at the Jardin Tino Rossi on the bank of the Seine. A catacombs tour if you are into history and the macabre. My favorite… a decadent hot chocolate from Mademoiselle Angelina and a walk through the Jardin du Luxembourg. Have the best time!

It’s Mountain Monday! On this stormy Chicago night, I’m thinking of the clear sunny sky in Napa wine country during the summer. I go to northern California so rarely, but every time I’ve gone, I’ve had a great experience.

It’s Mountain Monday! I enjoyed this view from out West (Utah, I believe, for this hike). Love to hike in mountains, especially given how flat the area around Chicago is.

Top Chicago romantic spots: The Riverwalk downtown (my pic) and the South Pond in Lincoln Park (not my pic). Rosehill Cemetery on the north side is historic. Check out a haunted Lincoln Park Ghost Tour. Get drinks at classic Millers Pub or Marge’s Still.

Greetings from Chicago! Love all the buildings that line the Chicago River downtown. And it wouldn’t be summer without the water taxis moving up and down the river.

For a total aviation geek like me, this pic taken at the Denver International Airport has everything… a plane wing with the flaps visibly deployed, other aircraft, a control tower, cool clouds and sky, and mountains in the distance 🥵😍❤️❤️

Floating down Clear Creek outside Denver. Such a fun, refreshing way to beat the heat on a hot summer day. However, we weren’t the only ones with the idea to leave urban Denver and cool off in the river. Was rather noisy and crowded. Still, a great summer idea a short drive from the city!

It’s Mountain Monday! Today’s view is a late afternoon from the top of Mount Haleakala on the island of Maui in Hawaii. At over 10,000 ft (3,000 meters), it rises above most clouds and is a relatively dry, barren, windswept place. A sacred spot worthy of reverence, honor, and care ❤️

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is sit in a park or forest preserve at dusk and watch the fireflies glow and sparkle. It’s one of the few things I remember loving to do as a child. Even if things feel dark, may the magic of the firefly give you hope 🙏❤️💙💚

Was in Indianapolis this past week (good city but not as great as Chicago 😂) and spent a few hours walking the grounds of Newfields, where the Art Museum and Lilly Mansion are. Such a beautiful urban park space and so peaceful. If you are in Indy, you should go!

However, there is a small break in the trees in the middle of the picture through which a grand white mansion can be seen in the distance. That mansion was built around 1910 and was the old Lilly Family home. Now it is a museum and park. There is a greenhouse as part of the Newfields park area. Inside the greenhouse, some orchids are growing. This picture is a mix of pure white orchid flowers and some purple white orchid flowers in the bottom left of this picture. Pink roses are growing and blooming on a white lattice fence at the Newfields Park.
