Data-driven politics, grounded in faith, hope, and love.
Also, move all tribalism in general from Politics to sports where it belongs.

I say move ALL nationalism from politics to sports. It would make the world a far better place.

Counterpoint: Sports are one of the only healthy outlets mankind has found for their otherwise highly destructive tribal instincts. So if there's one place in the it's OK to let loose with Nationalism, it's sports.

I'd like one with a de Colores theme on the feathers. Oklahoma has ALWAYS been about diversity, even when those in power pretended otherwise. Monochrome is for the fascists these days.

Also realistically, those older Boomer voters are a declining demographic. So I'm not sure even 2020 Biden could pull it off anymore. So put away the time machine.

I don't think enough people talk about this in terms of how Biden won. He pulled disproportionately (for a Dem) from older voters as an old-timey labor Dem. Realistically, there's no way those older Trump->Biden voters were staying put to vote Harris.

Every now and then I find myself needing to repost JMS' old Usenet rant about mere ideas being worthless.

Yup almost went there myself. If I hadn't got accepted by my top pick school, it would have been them.

Also, the low-flow insert on the showerhead is old AF. It existed during Trump's presidency, and during Bush II as well.

Same as Austin in Texas.

All showerheads now come with a little rubber insert to restrict the flow of water. Coincidently, they are also all easily removable with a corkscrew prior to screwing into place.

Rolla is a college town, FWIW. An engineering college, but a college nonetheless.

Can't even use the "Canadian Girlfriend" ploy on this one.

The entire strategy hinged on successfully bullying every sovereign entity in the world at once. Even gradeschool Bullies are smart enough to pick on their weaker classmates at a time.

Also Gen-X endorsing this statement. We had a different definition of "cool" which basically boiled down to not GAF about anything, and being a total ahole to anyone who cared about things.

It's tough to see demograhically because age itself still has a greater effect. (Largely because Republicans tend to be richer, which in the USA means they get better healthcare and get to live longer)
April 9, 2025 at 4:33 PM
Elder GenX here, and that's just a fact. My age cohort has been consistently more Republican than the one we replaced, and the one after us as we aged into each age range.

Sounds to me like someone who holds out hope that his dry well might still become a gusher, if he just pumps harder.
