philosophy nerd (Simone Weil is my fav)
big roguelike fan, or hardcore (permadeath) game modes
not a social media type but we'll see how it goes
no way this is true
i'd go and see for myself but I'd really rather not 😂

It sure has happened a lot.

I see belief as a Bayesian thing, where you match your model to reality as close as you can via experience, so yes I believe in climate change

I get that the common speech of belief tends to be a more emotional tie, though, which makes me kind of sad

I think its more that there's separate factions within their party that want different things
And lots of people realizing that Musk is too stupid to be in control without making them all look awful

play some good games like satisfactory 😆
honestly haven't played marvel rivals, its probably good, but those games can be pretty toxic. Solo queing especially throwing you into whatever the algorithms decide you fit with instead of what'll be fun or challenging

Pretty sure we wouldn't be in this situation if he was still in office
Dude had an amazing ability to cut through the bullshit during hearings

yeah it is a really cool effect, I bet a lot of kids thought it was funny until they realized they broke the tv 😂
February 26, 2025 at 9:49 PM
i had to find a video to show it, this one shows it pretty well, ends up having long term effects that are less pronounced

I'm in the same boat
feels like I can't do anything here because I've already been doing it
but maybe reaching out to people who would never do this kind of thing would help
February 26, 2025 at 6:06 PM
I've always felt so left out of these
having never bought their products in the first place

I do love to see it, though
February 26, 2025 at 1:30 PM
I am optimistic it'll accelerate the problems so we'll have to deal with them
I hate accelerationism as a tactic but it has its benefits
February 21, 2025 at 4:59 PM
yeah I certainly wouldn't try to rely on the power hungry sociopaths, but it is nice when they do push back because they can be really good at power dynamics

Doesn't help that they're horrible people, though 😅

nobody gets in his situation without being a drug addict lol
Not to mention how easy it is for people like Putin to get in his head
February 21, 2025 at 4:32 PM
it did seem like he might have been pushing against these things finally, but I think he was just getting a feel for how people responded to him being in opposition and he didn't like it
February 21, 2025 at 4:28 PM
yeah this bothered me because it basically backed those crypto groups (good and bad) into a corner
since they werent really given options to do business well, they basically were just told to fail, as i understand it
February 21, 2025 at 4:26 PM
I think its even worse. We already had a lot of cases of bad groups (tether for example) ruining progress for a lot of projects by shifting the focus to projects entirely designed to make money rather than get something done
like coinbase now listing almost anything regardless of its utility
February 21, 2025 at 4:24 PM
Lets be honest its a pretty reductive way to put a complex situation
Right now theres practically no national level choices on the "red" side that aren't simply loyalists
I personally prefer to just not rely on national level politics and pay more attention to civil action and local level government
February 21, 2025 at 4:19 PM
Yeah i think its both ways here, the SEC has actually been pretty bad when it comes to crypto. They had been lumping all the good and bad cases concerning crypto together as bad. We're just swinging now from "all crypto bad" to "its all good" (legally)
February 21, 2025 at 4:14 PM
hah thats a great one!

Mine was the unhappy people one: "Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movement of small green pieces of paper, which was odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.”
February 4, 2025 at 6:43 PM
the way I see it anger is useful for about 5-10 seconds

in those first moments you are driven to see what you should do or pay attention to

after that, it loses its usefulness and tends to be a problem

I keep myself sane by staying well informed

its *definitely* working right now 😵‍💫
