Langston Hughes is evergreen. I remember being shocked at one point in my childhood to find out that he'd died before I was born because his words are so vibrant and alive.

We had Easter Baskets until high school because my father had so much fun creating clues to help us find them. (He was a teacher too...and had to get creative when his weird oldest child, aka me, showed no interest at first.)

Wholeheartedly agree. And not just for the hunger part... the lack of healthcare....robbing students of crucial educational support. I'm a middle school teacher. I'm terrified of what lies ahead for some of my most vulnerable students.
