There was a huge vulture whose name was Mol'-luk, the Condor. He was the son of O-let'-te, the Coyote-Man. His home was on the mountain called Oo-yum-bel'-le, from which he could look out over the world, across the bay and beyond to the ocean, and to the east to the tules, and the great valley.

O-le'-te, the Coyote-Man, emerged from the fog-covered ocean. There was no land yet, so O-le'-te sent a diving turtle down to bring up mud from the bottom of the ocean. O-le'-te mixed the mud with water and seeds and created the land. This is why O-let'-te, the Coyote-Man, was called the Creator.
