Yes, we did one together at Boastie's Champions School. I've done one at the Royal Enfield too. And I did actually "race" a round of Short Track back in 2006.

Identical powertrain, battery, charging etc - just differ in wheels and tyres: DM has mad 19-inchers with weird-sized dirt track tubber; Alpinista has 17in sports touring tyres in normal 120 / 180 sizes. Suspension feels pusher on this than the DM too, much nicer ride. So I prefer this one.

It looks smart, I like the wacky front end, and it sounds like they're taking a sensible approach. I hear the FF project lead has just left the company though, which is odd timing to happen right before it gets launched...

Demo Mode is where your new KTM is delivered with all its optional electronic extras (quickshifter, Track mode etc) turned on. After 932 miles they switch off, then you choose whether you want to pay for them. Many folk hate it. Some suggested it was a cause of KTM's financial problems. It wasn't.

Yes. But 2, 5, 10 years from now there will be only be tall tales told about how failed camshafts and charging extra for electronics and buying MV were what sunk KTM, and the truth - greed and overproduction and denying reality - will be long forgotten.
