Tried out a few different jug shapes on the wheel today! With some spring shows coming up soon, it’s time to start building up inventory. Excited to see how these turn out!

I'm Heather Elyse Head, a lifelong resident of Northeast Georgia, where I've had the privilege of learning from some of the region’s most esteemed folk potters. My work is deeply rooted in traditional folk pottery, but I love adding a modern twist with a focus on whimsical female faces.

Excited to be working on a few more collaboration jugs with Dal Burtchaell!

Eye jugs hold a special place in my heart—they’re some of my favorite pieces to create. There’s something endlessly fascinating about sculpting eyes, and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it.

I decided to try throwing pottery on the wheel while wearing a down jacket to be more productive in this frosty weather. It worked well until I caught the sleeve on the jug I was making. Oh, well. I can smooth it out in the next step. 🤪
