Actually to be fair I know those people aren’t conservatives so I’m being facetious but there are people watching who are single mothers and some people, at least in my limited sphere of Who watchers, have come across as a bit sneery.

And a few podcasters I’ve heard saying (without referencing problems with the story arc) things like “to have someone who is supposed to be strong and intelligent and then leave her with a baby is a shit ending.” Maybe it’s important to explain why it’s shit otherwise it feels quite…conservative.

A direct quote from a 20-something woman who put a video on IG after the finale: “OMG they gave her a fucking baby. She’s supposed to be independent”. Umm…she is. She’s independent with a baby. Also seemingly with a very nice house. I’d have HMRC investigating her to be honest.

I think it’s insulting and somewhat middle class to be saying her character was ruined because oh no she has a child.
