Gathering billions in annualized (not annual) revenue does not actually equal "making money". They are all burning money on an unprecedented scale.

Maybe the authors, @darakerr.bsky.social and Dan Milmo, should pay more attentions to the likes of @edzitron.com to see how deeply flawed the AI space is. As Ed points out in www.wheresyoured.at/the-haters-g... these companies are actually not "making money".

Instead, it paints a symmetric picture — some people believe it's possible, some believe it's not. But the ones who believe we're not anywhere near AGI are the only ones with any credentials to comment on this matter.

Don't fight tariffs with tariffs. There are better options. Terminate the deals that protect US IP, so that it's legal to circumvent Apple's 30% store levy or John Deere's $200/intervention surcharge. Let us legally jailbreak these technologies, as Doctorow proposes: pluralistic.net/2025/03/03/f...
