Well, i have to say I'm impressed after going from a full Ice car to a plug in hybrid. Although slightly regretting not going for a full electric car.

That's why I like the little but newer Transport for Wales trains.
Plenty of space and a strap to secure rather than a wheelbrace.

Plus no one seems to complain if you're in the vestibule part

Changed mine back in May, thought "hey I've changed brake cables on my old external routed bike how hard could it be."

Cue cursing that I'd started.

Right so that's tendonitis and a bakers cyst.
Drugs, exercise, rest, and ice and heat... And a "ban" from cycling for the next two weeks... so #coffeeneuring might be off the cards. I so I'll have a cup now whilst drying out and waiting for my bus.... Then to find an open phamacy

Quick proof of concept for mapping Lane type (segregation).

Data needs alot of cleansing and standardising.

Well a very fun day, an attempt to do some cycle lane characterisation.
Main goal are the routes lit?
And also took a look at surface quality and Lane type.

Alot more OSM updates required.

But they look so good on a diverge
September 24, 2025 at 7:42 PM
This was my solution, added in a screw mount so it could be turned forward, gps attached and returned flat and tightened.

36miles in,ISouthport done, time for lunch
September 6, 2025 at 10:24 AM
15/80 miles done, 90 still Southport bound, made it to Broadgreen Sainsbury's for second breakfast.

Well who would have thought that not all garmin mount inserts are equal... (not me for sure)

"I've got loads of mounts I can steal an insert from, won't be any bother"... famous last words

Managed to bodge a fix before foolhardily attempting my longest ride tomorrow (80miles round to Southport).

Nice to have a wander around see some old trains and look at the exhibits for hydrogen engines and battery technology and a fantastic mural visible nearby.

All free and all it cost was a cup of coffee and a slice of shortbread.

Protests and ditlrty dealings against railways a tale as old as them.
August 22, 2025 at 1:38 PM
Can't get far from trains without having bicycles.

And a view out over the construction of a new steam train in the workshop
