I always thought that their look is massively under-serving the concept of one of the most dangerous species in the universe. I even love their look from Kelvin movies, they look like apex-predators finally. I don’t know, I’m relatively new Trekkie from Covid era 😅

However, I can see that SNW was praised for continuing the TNG Klingons look and I’m probably the only fan out there who’s like “nope, sorry, those Klingons matched their TNG era. But in SNW they just look ridiculous.”

I agree, the decision was controversial. I was actually on a convention recently where we had VFX and Concept Artist from DISCO, and they were saying that they were raising the concerns predicting the fans might not like it, but executives pushed it either way.

I actually love DISCO Klingons look much more than the TNG version. They finally lived to their reputation of scary powerful species. And they do speak in universal English eventually, and they also evolve the look throughout the seasons of DISCO :)
