It’s a great weekend for the CT Boatshow in Essex where @savethesound.bsky.social is speaking and tabling… of course I picked the rainy day of the 3 days to work. But any day I can advocate for cleaner water & healthier communities is a good day!!! #environment #climate #conservation #earthmonth

I went for a hike today… needed to clear my head & make sense of the world. As AT hikers we have a saying “The trail provides.” Today I needed a boost and saw poetry hanging on trees along the trail. This one spoke to me the most in a way I didn’t even know I needed. #worklifebalance #nature #peace

Went out for a hike on the Mattatuck Trail this morning but got turned back at a wide river with no bridge. Thought of fording it barefoot but at 29 degrees outside I decided against it 😁 saw a massive hemlock and a huge old coppiced oak!

While hiking on the Mattatuck Trail it’s obvious how the #climatechange related drought-deluge cycles here in CT are badly damaging the trails. We were in drought mode until heavy rains hit last week. This weekend the trails are badly eroded.

A nice 15 mi hike on the Mattatuck trail today in Wolcott CT. I was treated to some unexpected waterfalls along the way!

TODAY I remembered my winter gear for my hike along the John Muir and Testone Boulder Trails in CT. A nice 7.7mi hike/run breaking trail today on an icy morning … the kind I love to be out on! #hike #nature #winterwonderland

Went for a hike yesterday. I drove 1 hr to the trail, it was 14F degrees and trails were pure ice from storms last weekend. when pulling into the parking lot realized I forgot my microspikes and gloves at home! Instead of a 9.5 mi hike, I only lasted 2.5 mi 🤣

Went for a hike yesterday. I drove 1 hr to the trail, it was 14F degrees and trails were pure ice from storms last weekend. when pulling into the parking lot realized I forgot my microspikes and gloves at home! Instead of a 9.5 mi hike, I only lasted 2.5 mi 🤣
