I read less last year than the previous 5. 38 books on e-reader. 7 on audio. Probably 4 in hand. I wrote some and taught more.
I listened to more music. I yoga. I lifted. I traveled. I let go. I welcomed my Crone status.
I said goodbye to my cat. And grieved.

One thing I'm figuring out in my 50s - You have to be ok being bad at something you were once good at. I'm not as fast as I once was. I'm not as limber. I can't kick as high. (I am stronger tho!) But I still want to train. So I take my bad knees and stiff body to class.

Almost every day for the last month, I've been sitting in my office writing and editing. And for _years_ before this, my writing partners and I have researched, written, debated, edited, re-written, re-edited, cleaned up, and improved our history textbook. The second edition will be out in 2025.

Decided not to apply for SSI/Medicaid for my child. I can't be sure these programs will be there in 4 years. And I refuse to impoverish her so she can receive benefits. So she needs to be both disabled _and_ poor to be properly disabled in America.
