The "enigmas never age" and "May every day be another wonderful secret" was the real kicker. It's obvious coded language saying they both did you know what to minors.

I mean, he owned the biggest *teen beauty pageant* and kids were trafficked from Mar a Lago, including Prince Andrew's. Come on...

Honestly, if they could twist 1/6 and video of what were obviously Trump supporters beating police officers and breaking into the Capitol as "fake", a liberal plot and Nancy Pelosi's fault despite the Speaker having no authority over the President with the military, I can see them doing that here.

I mean, there's also a federal election fraud case moving forward currently, where unlike in 60+ cases Trump brought, the judge actually found the evidence serious and credible enough to allow that.

Even Trump's own appointees rejected his theories/"evidence" of fraud by comparison.

A great track by them, not to mention a great album whose title itself was very on point thematically with GWB and the Iraq War.

That felt like a very dark time, politically-speaking, especially having just graduated high school, but little did we all know just how bad it was going to get...

His buying of a $13 million mansion to move into when departing the White House was a real nice touch to say, "Thanks for trusting me with hope and change", lol.

Yes, obviously Trump and his Republican enablers are worse, but Obama was an absolute continuation of the failed "Third Way" strategy.

Yesterday really, but yes, history will be the opposite of kind to his current enablers in Congress.
Their cowardice and inaction at this point is beyond pathetic, and don't get me started on Mitch McConnel as the modern von Papen, as he also thought he could use a wannabe tyrant to his advantage.

I loathe the SCOTUS's immunity decision from last July and want it overturned, but it does not give him "total immunity" at all and saying so will only embolden Trump/Repubs to act as if it does. It gives courts the final say as to what is "official" (immune) and "unoffocial" (prosecutable) conduct.

Which there's no good answer to, except: "I want to help the wealthiest people in this country make even more money."

As it is - few are aware the richest 400 families began paying less than the bottom 50% of Americans in 2018, during T's 1st term. Now they want to give them *even more*.

One of the last things that Biden did, I believe via EO, was to make it so overdraft fees couldn't be more than something like $5, which was an amazing policy, considering their egregious fees.

I can only assume Trump reversed that ASAP - if people were paying attention - they'd all be asking why.

Oh, I'm sure there's a ridiculous amount of money laundering going on, connecting to this administration.

After all, for Putin to gain his billions, he funneled money through a fake charity to provide children's hospitals with equipment, etc.
March 9, 2025 at 2:25 PM
Of course, along with their subsidies (aka socialism for the rich), and just FYI:

The richest 400 families began paying less than the bottom 50% of Americans in 2018, during T's first term, but Republicans still want to give them even more by gutting what little assistance Americans still had.
March 9, 2025 at 2:23 PM
Probably more just a result of Trump and his admin's simplistic thinking.
March 9, 2025 at 2:19 PM
What's insane is Trump would be absolutely broke, on top of potentially going to federal prison, if he hadn't have won this election. It was incredibly crucial for him to win, and now that he has, he's doing everything he can to be a classic kleptocrat: beginning with the Trump coin rug pull.
March 9, 2025 at 2:18 PM
I mean, also - just a foreign actor very clearly trying to meddle with your own country's elections, on top of his politics, will not go over well.

Either way: I couldn't be happier to see it, and can only think it was Musk's hubris that didn't allow him to see this obvious outcome.

Realistically, they can't do much in the minority in both houses, outside of procedural maneuvers to slow things + public campaigning.

Dem AGs have been doing a lot and can via legal action, something they planned for 1+ year in advance of a possible Trump win. Blue state governors also have power
March 5, 2025 at 5:46 AM
Did he? As in, walk out in the middle of it?

I couldn't stomach watching most of this, though did catch the Al Green moment live (it's too bad people couldn't hear him: he was saying Trump had no mandate to cut Medicaid, etc.)
March 5, 2025 at 5:43 AM
I mean, Alito, Gorsuch and Thomas also weren't present. Sotomayor skipped Biden's last SOTU, and SCOTUS justices have often skipped SOTUs without much rhyme or reason.

All SCOTUS justices should be opposed to Trump, simply because he's an adjudicated insurrectionist and threat to the Constitution.
March 5, 2025 at 5:39 AM
I'm against Trump and voted that way, but Alito, Gorsuch and Thomas were also absent, while Kagan attended. Sotomayor skipped Biden's last SOTU, same for the three conservatives above. Basically, SCOTUS justices skip SOTUs pretty frequently - they're supposed to sit there like statues anyways.
