As I’ve noted before, to win a robust majority, you need to get votes from people 20 points to the right of @mattyglesias.bsky.social

The most left wing set of that 60%. And most people would much rather believe that secretly everyone is progressive in these states but voter suppression holds them down so they can just run who they want and bear no responsibility for the loss.

why would someone spend millions on building a factory in the US under the presumption that US-made products will be protected if the protection comes and goes on a whim?

I want a Star Wars movie in vein The Longest Day that’s just one epic battle from multiple perspectives. All Star cast. Jakku.

Like the end of Jedi but the whole damn movie and no Skywalkers.

I think counter intuitively if the suburbs were internal to the city they would be less likely to siphon off regional transit funds for ever more rings (Houston is really bad about this) and also they might actually vote for density in the central core as a way to keep it away

The problem is it’s not a Nazi bar. It was the neighborhood bar that we’ve allowed to be taken over by Nazis. Sure you can withdraw and move to Bluesky 100% but then you’ve conceded your neighborhood bar is now the Nazi bar. Stay and fight and maybe there’s a chance the Nazis leave to Truth or Gab

This data basically shows if Dems want to gain seats (ie be challengers) currently held by republicans, moderating helps. If Republicans hold 100 competitive seats, running all moderates gets you to 47 seats after 4 elections. Running all progressive gets you only 36
