I’ve done a few things. I’m not quite done yet.
Throw me in and it’s six.

That one’s done through fourth draft and out looking for a home.

And yes, I’ve had so many scans in the last four years - bones this last week, CT this next, but also MRI a few times - and they don’t slide you into those machines without a reason and YOU ABSOLUTELY KNOW WHAT THEY’RE LOOKING FOR. He lies like he breathes.

Note on Carhartts the company doesn’t provide: Brown duck isn’t meant to be washed; it softens and becomes fragile. The overalls were daily wear for me for 14 yrs. Meant to cover other clothes and be tossed filthy and reeking in a gang box or hung in a shed after work and before other human contact.

I recommend a detour to Mastodon and a search for #MardiPatisserie.

Yep I live in SAN FRANCISCO, and ride my bike often on SAN JOSE Avenue and VALENCIA Street or along the EMBARCADERO, then through the PRESIDIO on my way to cross the Golden Gate to SAUSALITO. Spanish spoken continuously in this town since 1776, year the US was born.

I’m so pleased at how my two sons have turned out, each in his very different way (but craftsmen both), gentle beautiful men, nothing remotely manosphere-related.

Faulkner said something like All short story writers are failed poets, all novelists are failed short story writers. So I write short stories, with a novel-in-progress (2nd draft complete) as fallback.

I think I’ve ridden that road.

Boy and stopping on my bike to block a driver where only bicyclists are supposed to be is exactly a thing I’ve done.

¿Does “Playa Bonita” count?

City with its dead always above ground (hydraulic necessity) as also 69 miles away in the village of Theriot (they spell it different down there), where I took this photo.

Very cool intersection of Latin cultures in Seelie’s photos, and the bats/murciélagos/chauves-souris especially were great.

This half-Canuck guy recalls the dedication, when Armand Vaillancourt stenciled Québec Libre all over the fountain. I mourn its removal. Do it carefully and bring it back as an ode to liberation.

Some smaller labor orgs sustain regular publications. Ours, the San Francisco Building and Construction Trades Council (I’m retired Sec-Treas) has published Organized Labor since 1900, now monthly. I think my successor pays a full-time editor.

It’s San Francisco. It would be a cataclysm if we didn’t elect a Democrat. I was redistricted out of her district last go-round and not brought back in by Prop 50, so I won’t get to help choose, alas.

If you want to live in a nice world you have to support independent media and independent journalists that are doing the work and saying what needs to be said.

Also, a callout here to her two chiefs-of-staff with whom I dealt, Robert Edmonson in DC and Dan Bernal in SF, themselves brilliant. I have special affection for Dan, whom I saw so often here in San Francisco.
