Lessons also have great flavor - even if it's just a type line + name lining up.

And clearly the Cadets need to learn while the teacher helps you cast more Lessons

Simple flavor wins vs fail in Avatar.

Epic Downfall will often be "epic", going up in mana & maybe killing legendaries.

Whereas Deadly Precision... IDK why you're sacrificing an artifact or creature here. Maybe this used to be a -/- effect that got swapped late?

Fleem & a villainous discard deck are facing off against Mayhem's worst nightmare - an activate graveyard hate card. Can you win despite your opponent's graveyard hate?
- Start with an empty graveyard & win no matter what decisions your opponent makes

Why do all the blink effects these days return at end of turn? It's better protection but no fun for comboing..

My Nahiri deck makes a lot of tokens, as living weapon, for mirrodin, etc.. cards are great in there.

Hydro-Man is a cool, flavorful design that has some really neat potential. Mostly he seems like a neat blue ramp spell but loading him up with counters to dodge sorcery speed removal would be cool too.

Avatar spoilers have rumbled into view! Can you help these earthbenders break out of jail & win this turn? #MTG #TLA

Turn 1 Pigeon, turn 2 Web sling, replay pigeon, looks like one of the scariest openers in #SPM limited. Pigeon in general is just gonna be a good card huh?

Electro looks like a great plant for firebending

Your opponent just stole your Cactaur & gained 10 thousand life! Can you win this turn anyway, even at -1 life? #mtg

Your Standard deck is blinged out with some cool special guest lands. Assuming your opponent doesn't deck check you, can you win this turn?#MTGEOE

Finally we have simply "+1/+1" in the classic Honor of the Pure!
July 30, 2025 at 10:59 AM
Gaining life is another. And Honor's Reward does both! ..though both these cards also represent mourning, which may be closer to the cause of the lifegain.
July 30, 2025 at 10:59 AM
+1/+1 counters seems to be pretty common; this is the flavor of the entire "renown" mechanic
July 30, 2025 at 10:59 AM
Edge of Eternity gave us this straightforward resonant card and got me thinking.. how is honor represented in magic?
July 30, 2025 at 10:59 AM
Your opponent has 22 life & a hulking tortoise to hide behind. Can you get through it & win this turn?#MTGFIN

Must be playing death metal to wrath everything
July 11, 2025 at 2:25 PM
This card seems very easy to go off with in the right deck

Ready for our hardest puzzle so far this year? Both Gogo's are teaming up to mime their way to victory - can you find victory & win this turn?
July 7, 2025 at 10:59 AM
Just had a great game against Wheel of Misfortune and Psychosis Crawler with life totals of (caster) 5, 5, 1, & 11. I think the game is guaranteed over here unless the player with 1 life kills themselves with a big number.

Reading the card explains the card - and when you don't sometimes you lose. This is in fact a sorcery 😭
June 13, 2025 at 2:25 PM
And the chocobo makers are nice ways to get value if your opponent doesn't have two creatures. + good on their own
June 13, 2025 at 10:59 AM
Finally got my first #FIN drafts in. Probably not too surprising, but Cerberus is in fact good. I was worried as most limited decks won't get max value here - but doubling one removal spell still wins some games.
June 13, 2025 at 10:59 AM
The most powerful word on a magic card is "double". Can you find a way to double up your power & beat the Cie'th this turn?
June 4, 2025 at 10:59 AM
Which of Hecteyes & Ahriman has the type "Eye Horror"?
